Cookeina sulcipes
In watercolor July 2006
Many people paint mushrooms (Basidiomycetes) but few people paint Ascomycete fruiting bodies. This was the first ascomycete fruiting body that
I painted. The very interesting fungus lives in the tropical jungle of Panama. I got a glimpse of it when I visited. Many photographs were taken
and now, it is painted. It was donated to the Mycological Society of America, annual auction.

Penicillium
In watercolor July 2006
After Katrina did her damage to New Orleans, one of my very best friends, Stephanie Gross, studied the
Penicillium species that grow in the moist wall from flooded homes. As a present of appreciation and reminder of her Penicillium days, I painted
this piece for her, in the new style that I have developed.

Yellow Irises
In oil June 2006
My very good friends Stacey Clayon and Jessica Rosson moved to their new home in Memphis, TN. I promised them a piece for the hall. I decided that
a piece in oil, painted in Monet impressionistic style would best fit their hall. I have not painted in oil for a very long time but it was fun getting
back to it. I am quite happy about this piece since it was my first attempt at Monet impressionism.
